The Gate of Vaul, sent in stasis, it's virtually unusable by the eldar, now cornered in their struggle against time in order to prevail on the most important battlefield: hopepeak.
On the central front, a battered but still reconstituted entrenched steel line keep up at the eldar besiegers, while along Tana River, on the north east front, the penal legion engages another eldar army by days, in a grueling myriad of small as bloody battles. At Hopepeak, the seventh space wolves great company is fighting by days against the Eldar that did broke through the thin steel line days ago: a hit and run war, that is grueling and exhausting both sides without moving the balance in favor of one of the two contenders.
The capital region of Abeldar is a bloodbath, a stalemate cauldron in which all the forces in field are fighting without giving a definite shove at the opponent. It's in this context that a rapid army of Windriders whizzes behind Tana River, in attempt to circumvent the entrenched imperial line and impact to Hopepeak, permanently changing the numbers in favor of the eldar. But their opponent is ancient, a wild beast. His instincts sharp, almost as much as the eldar's farsight.
And while the army of Windriders hurtling undisturbed from the adjacent region, the eighth great space wolves company intercepts them near the suburb of Ortron, frustrating, at least for the moment, the last desperate maneuver of the eldars before the final face off.
A show, seen from high altitude, unique and enchanting. Tens of jetbikes, and then falcons, night spinners, shining spears, like an immense storm the eldar windriders' army hurtling rapidly but is forced to stop immediately, when in front of them, near Ortron suburbs, at the bottom of Sky Heroes square, an army of space wolves appear at thier sight.
OST - Tron Legacy - Soundtrack OST - 05 Armory - Daft PunkThe astartes army, as in the recent clash at Borka 's field doesn't seem to move at first. In the sky, only a thunderhawk gunship patrol the space marines air-space (C.A.P.), taking, by now, away the Phoenix Bombers formation.
The long column of winderiders breaks in two, forming two separate armies. The first, commanded directly by the autarch, go around Sky Heroes squadre on thier tactcal objectives side, deployed, the objectives, in a wedge for break the Testudo (tortoise) of the Marines and go over. An army composed of two Windriders warhosts and a Falcons troupe.
The second army, far more huge, bypass Heroes square on the opposite side. Two small guardians warhosts on wave serpents, followed by the Windriders warhost of the Farseer, he mounted on his Vyper. A falcons troupe and dark reapers warhost, the most important and vital unit in the army, mounted on six falcons, follow and close the column.
In the sky, the great space wolves landing vessel adds to thunderhawk, making it almost a suicide an approach for the eldar bombers, which in fact give up and disengage with sinuous manoeuvres and get around the battlefield that has suddenly created under them.
OST - Tron Legacy - Soundtrack OST - 06 Arena - Daft PunkThe marines Starcruiser will enter soon the orbital space sector. The last battle recalled a bitter lesson for the Eldar forces. If the win upon the Marines will not be quick, there is a serious risk of being early and hopelessly bogged down in a fight as long as exhausting, here, too far away from Hopepeak, too far from their strategic goal.
From the astartes' "testudo", however, two assault skyclaw marines detachments followed by a land speeder detachement disengage and move forward a little further, approaching the army of Windriders on the right side, at a sufficient distance of engagement in firefight.
The battle against time begins.
