Initiative: Cadian armyThree weeks. Just three weeks had passed from the misson of the eighteenth regiment on Fungus, bringing with them the war directly to the flourishing fields of Abeldar as their return. The alien blitz-war has surprised the defending forces of the planet, focusing in the area where, according to the report, the ancient Aristle's book is hidden: Hopepeak. A military action primarily designed to block war capacity of the human, disabling the vital technologies of the defenders. Now, near the city of Palium, a Cadian army that "fortunately" was out for a training exercise, thus saving themselves from E.M.P. attack, moves against an entire army of Eldar's Titans approaching. The commander Jean-Baptiste Voltaire advance with his army, not exactly equipped to fight with this fearsome as unexpected threat. Commander voltaire, a noble commander highly esteemed by the nobility of Abeldar, since he had among his ancestors the honor of being the descendant of a prestigious inquisitor of the thirty-eighth millennium.
All eyes of the Abeldar's nobility are focused on this first battle with bated breath. The noise of the engines of the leman russ is approaching, scaring the fauna of the place, the people nearby, accustomed to war against orcs, has for years don't see a real invasion, as the Eldar act with grace even when conquer. However, the fear against the alien was enough to force people to leave their homes, retreating to the north. A Capitol Imperialis is a tracked Super Heavy Tank often used as a mobile command base for Imperial Guard Regiments. Though heavily armoured and protected by Void Shields, its sheer size and slow speeds limits the vehicle to defensive operations.
At almost fifty meters tall, the rhomboid-shaped Capitol Imperialis rivals a Titan in size.Solid adamantine plating and six Void Shield generators gives it a comparable level of protection. Its primary weapon is the massive Behemoth Cannon, so large that four Leman Russ Battle Tanks could fit within its barrel. The concussive force of firing the Behemoth Cannon can knock nearby troops off their feet and cause avalanches, while a single hit can kill thousands of enemy soldiers and vehicles, throwing them hundreds of meters into the air and producing a huge mushroom cloud.
Secondary weapons include hundreds of Bolters for close-in defensive fire, and the hull can be electrically charged to repel boarders. Within its massive hold a Capitol Imperialis can carry two full companies of Imperial Guard, whether infantry or tanks. This allows the vehicle to act as a mobile bunker for troops, especially on inhospitable worlds, and the embarked soldiers can further support the Capitol Imperialis by fighting from its protective bulk. The command bridge situated deep within a Capitol Imperialis allows its regiment's commander the tools needed to command his troops efficiently. Vox-gear, pict-casters, logic-engines and a holo-map, all serviced by hooded Servitors, gather, analyze and display information to allow the leadership to plan out their campaign.The Cadian army slowly deploy according to the coordinates of commander Jean-Baptiste Voltaire: three different corps. A first body, consisting of a mechanized infantry detachment, the stormtroopers "Orion", the seventh karskin company and the Cadian snipers on the right side in front of the imperial secondary objective, beyond the River Tana. Centrally, the capitol imperialis of commander Voltaire, followed by a Stormblade heavy tank detachment, the fifth karskin company, the whiteshield and the eighth leman russ on the path of the primary objective. And finally, on the left side, two support Shadowsword, together with a cadian infantry detachment and the thirty-leman russ, escorted by a company of vulture, all directed towards the fortress that watches over one of the bridges, the only way for access inside the citadel and the near forest. Soon, on the horizon, begin to stand out the vacuous silhouettes, sparkling, immense. As the dance of huge ghost giants, the eldar's titans appear on the horizon, indecipherable, as the race that gave them birth. The most lethal Eldar's war machines, gathered in legion, occupy the adjacent wooded forest of Palium borough, and auxiliary forces, including dark reapers, shining spears, a guardian warhost on wave serpent, and two titans class "revenant", lurking just outside the city, ready to occupy the abandoned buildings. In the woods of Palium stand four Titans, and among them, an old warengine. A titan comparable, in terms of power, at the greatest war machine of the Imperium, the emperor titan: the Magnate.
OST - Judas Priest-The SentinelSoon, the imperial artillery open the "show". The basilisk artillery company opens fire, destroying three falcons grav tank, and shortly after, the auxiliary manticores throws its long-range missiles against the night spinners, destroying one and forcing to retreat.
The eldar advance with two scouts detachments, ahead of the arrival of the Titans, lurking in the vicinity of the bridges. This first successful cannonade brings the morale of the Cadian up, but the euphoria did not last long. From the sky, two bluish beams befall, with inhuman precision, upon the Shadowswords. Two rays started from the eldar Dragonship in orbit, hundreds of miles above their heads. The mighty heavytank reduced to two flows of molten steel, now indistinguishable. The death came crystalline, instant, perfect like a thunderbolt from the sky. The battle is just begun.
After vulture platoon strike, which unnecessarily unleashes his entire salvo of missiles against the Magnate, Cadian commander Voltaire orders at the central forces, and on the left side of prepare a cautious approach maneuver. One after another, the formations advance. The whiteshield occupy two buildings along the main street, while on the left side the infantry detachments marching occupies the stronghold. One after another, the bridges over the river Tana, outside the city, are destroyed by the titans heavy weapons, blocking the access routes to the ground Imperial forces. Only warengine will be able to cross the river, and realized the deception, Voltaire order to the nearest karskin regiment to embark inside his capitol imperialis, so that it can be ferried across the river in the half-hour later. The eldar forces have slightly more advanced towards the imperial line, but not enough to bring the fight to a critical level. Voltaire took time, the formation of sentinel was thrown forward, to shield from a possible face-off the entire right and center flank.
While the void shield generator slowly begins to regenerate the first shield, Commander Voltaire order at the capitol imperialis' drivers to prepare a fast movement of disengagement; under the fire of the phantom titan, the capitol imperialis risk, maybe not the destruction, but if the phantom will move first, only the indulgence of the Emperor sight could save it from serious and probably irreversible damage.
The chess game agasint the alien has just begun.
