One that just minutes before it was a dark cloud on the horizon, now is a growling and rattling presence. The immense mechanized vanguard of the ork army is here, an avalanche that runs fast. An immense avalanche of battlewagons, well-equipped for battle, loads of boyz, nobz and Gretchin. Columns of gunwagonz, among which are huge, massive gunfortress equipped with the terrible mekboy kustom weaponz. From west to east, a whole army of speed freaks: a warband, a warbike outriders, a kult of speed and six speedstas conquer compact the battlefield, ready to engage on the west flank the imperial line. Behind them, a warhorde of Napoleork, to make matters worse, to beef up the ranks.
At the center, the Deathskull big gunz mob on battlewagons is followed by a blood axes warhorde on battlewagons too; and by a mighty blitz brigade heavily equipped, ready to advance to the heart of the battlefield. On the left side, a goff warhorde and a column of gunwagons prepare their pincer maneuver. The huge horde slows down, for a few minutes, their mad dash to Atrudorstan pass. Few, long seconds, before letting the engines roar again and jump forward, to conquer, to victory. For NapoleOrk's glory!
The imperial army that General Liu Bocheng managed to gather on Atrudorstan pass is a jumble, which in other circumstances, would have sentenced him to death in front of an Astra Militarum's court. Yet, he made a virtue of necessity. Occupy the east stronghold a survived regiment of the south army, or rather, of three different survived regiments it was done one: with three leman russ, a hydra flak tank and one shadowsword super heavy tank, hidden behind the building, the only one main building left standing by the atomic explosion.
On the west side defends the stronghold a similar regiment, however, composed of citizen militia, arrived to the front from the villages behind Atrudorstan sector, marching day and night.
The central stronghold is defended by a mechanized infantry regiment of the planetary guard. In the rearguard, two sentinels and two humvees form the only available patrol platoon, while a dozen military policemen mounted on warbikes are all that may look like a fast-attack force.
No air support. Nothing more remains of the imperial defenders, who see reaching the horizon an ork army, eight times larger, ready and well prepared for battle. Nothing more, that an unwavering faith in their God Emperor and the hope that the space marines will run more fast than the north wind which bring them here, which thus far has led them.
