At the solemn Ivanor's gates, the Thermopylae sector, and other countless battlefields, now, disfigured, unrecognizable, nameless, the battle rages. Merciless.

OST - CoD: Modern Warfare 2 Soundtrack - Burning HelirideBefore the firelords are able to pounce on the battlefield, the storm of loyalists thunderbolts patrols the skies, postponing only the time of the confrontation, while, on the ground, Ebola, the emperor titan of Nurgle regroups, regenerating all its void shields and stepping back from the front line.
The Shadowswords company takes action, and before it's too late unleashes its three mighty volcano cannons against the bastion, by hours under the fire of the warlord titan Ignis Divine. The bastion is torn, and collapses into a din of shouts and broken concrete, while tons of debris are deposited to form a pile of rubble; but no time to settle, that dozens of undead hands climb and crawl among the ruins, taking place from the living, and the dead, on the defensive chaos front.
From the chaos rear, the bombards open fire again, striking on the loyalist outer walls, Killing dozen of soldiers and five skyclaws. Repartee, and meanwhile the Royal sector is reduced to a heap of smoking ruins, a hellish landscape, a cauldron of death, corruption and steel.
The Sector if full of zombies, the fetid wind of Ebola rages through the streets, awakening carcasses and empty simulacra. The eldar forces that patrol the plasma annihilator ground cannon on their hands is forced to assault a zombies pack, but isn't enough to kill them all. Zombies, a fearless and unstoppable threat, although not very effective against the xenos and imperial armored columns, but devastating on the soldiers morale, who see their comrades back bloodthirsty against them.
The battle rages, without mercy and rest. Ignis Divine opens fire against the raptor cult, perched on the buildings on the upper ground, forcing them to retreat on the Astra Militarum Head quarter, safe under the untouchable stronghold. The raptor cult lands in the moment when the columns of black legion land raiders and terminators rush behind their stronghold, creating together with a cultists coven of Khorne the second assault's wave. The gate of the Astra Militarum is still open, ready to unleash the second invasion horde.
On the chaos assault line, in front of the loyalist gate, after the huge explosion of the Golgotha's missiles, the black legion army stops, preparing an overwatch fire and consolidating their position. Only the reaver titan Colhera advances and fires its plasma cannon against the tower, Killing five skyclaws and damaging again the structure.
The sky is torn again, and this time a second thunderhawk darts and fires against the traitor flak detachment, destroying an hydra and forcing the other two to retreat, the air cover is now broken on the chaos assualt's zone.
The retreating hydra tanks stop behind the Emperor Titan, while behind the space port a traitor baneblades company enter the battlefield, among a stormtroopers platoon that moves and occupies the nearest buildings and bunkers.
The ordinatus armageddon, on the opposite side, march and arrives behind the shadowswords company, ready to unleash the hell on the traitor walls, next turn.
In the Astra Militarum Head quarters is decided that the time to wait is finished on the defensive line, and the traitor infantry company receives the order to fast move occuping the adjacent buildings, and fire against the shadowswords, opening in this way a massive and massifying fire against the super heavy tanks. Soon, the basilisks unleash their salvos against them, followed by two missiles of the banelord titan and finally by the morbus cannon of Gargarism, the warlord titan of Nurgle, that from the opposite side of the battlefield fires and destroys the first of the three super heavy tanks. The shadowswords company is in disarray.
The loyalist walls, due to enemy fire that focused against the shadowswords, lives a momentary and miraculous moment of peace. The remaining skyclaws, half of those landed, reboard on their thunderhawk that flies away in a safe route, ready to return for a later mission.
