The space that divides the two bastions is a ghost town, swollen and mute. Suddenly, the horrendous silence is torn by the shrill and disturbing sound of the city's sirens, like a macabre ritual, as if the terrible massacre that is about to come needs a master of ceremonies that announces its start. The decisive battle of Istanor begins.

Awakened by the sinister sound of the sirens, dozens of zombies rise near the missile silos. The fetid wind of Nurgle already overpowering blows to below the royal gates. A stinking, evil wind, that awakens the fallen human like puppets at its command, empty simulacra. In those situations from the sky forty swooping hawks rush to guard the missile silos. The Zombies, surely, are not an active threat to the sector, but many other enemy forces are ready to break into the battlefield.
The neverending night is torn, and fast lightning in the sky a thunderhawk of the black legion, toppling like a hornet's nest the raptor cult upon the swooping hawks. The chaos assault marines in flight intercept the swooping hawks in an unequal battle. Five marines fall to the ground, while none of the forty escape the massacre.
But the battle has just begun, and for no reason the Alaitoc give the win to the opponent, never so easily. Lifts off a guardian warhost on wave serpents, and bursts assaulting the zombies on the walls. The raptor cult unleash a massive support fire, but the zombies are defeated. The undead, however, doesn't take a step back. Fearless. The missile silos become the first tomb.
The massive steel gates of the Astra Militarum open, and the forlorn hope retinue advances rapidly towards the plasma annihilator ground cannon, escorting a group of chaos tech priest towards the precious artifact, while the deathwheel march to the first elevated ground, approaching the western gate of the missile silos objective.
The battle has bloody, ferocious. Merciless begun. The detachments on the outer gates, the respective space ports and fortresses prepare the overwatch fire, entrenching as possible.
From the royal palace three night spinner open fire, knocking down the void shields that protect the silos launch pad. Thus began an artilleries exchange, terrible and mighty. The whole traitor company of basilisks opens fire from the Astra militarum, causing weighty damage to the walls and killing a dozen entrenched guardians, while the loyalist manticores force to retreat the raptor cult, which fall back near the psychic tower.
